Demo 1 launched
As I prepare to publish the first demo of the 'rewritten' build, I am both excited and concerned about the minimum system requirements. While it's safe to say that any modern hardware will run the game flawlessly, what about those with older PCs? Here's the first great news: this game will support Windows XP (as long as the engine continues to support this OS). I ran all possible benchmarks on Windows XP to ensure compatibility.
The demo will include four games: Star Evil, Illuminator, G-Force Fighters, and Ooze. Star Evil and G-Force Fighters will feature all three levels, Illuminator will have one playable level, and Ooze will include two levels.
I tested the game on multiple older PCs and laptops, and, generally speaking, it ran decently on all of them. However, in some cases, the 'standard graphics' version slowed down, especially during auto-scrolling sections. To address this, I will provide two downloadable versions: 'Standard' and 'DirectX8'. If the game struggles to maintain 60 FPS in the 'Standard' version, it should perform better with the 'DirectX8' version. If your PC was built after 2010, you should have no problem running the 'Standard' version of the game.
However, there is a limitation with the 'DirectX8' version: in Illuminator, visual effects do not work. As a result, when the lights are off, characters are still visible, essentially making the levels easier to complete. If I find a solution, I will do my best to fix this issue.
